• Seagull droppings!

We’re so lucky living in Britain. You can be in the centre of London, and within a few hours’ drive time, find yourself sitting on the sand, slurping an ice cream and soaking up the views of our stunning coastline.

Summer just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Great British seaside, would it?

But with it comes one major problem for us car lovers. Seagulls. And more specifically. Seagull poo!

If you’ve invested in a professional vinyl wrap, the last thing you want is for an unsightly blemish or damage caused by seagulls. Bird droppings are well-known for causing extreme damage to paintwork and vinyl. So any incidents need to be dealt with – and quickly.

A splattering by those oversized seabirds spells bad news for your car, its paintwork or its beautifully designed vinyl wrap.

Here’s three things you can do to restore your wrap to its former colourful, gleaming and splat-free glory.

• Act quickly. Bird mess should be removed as soon as you spot it. The longer it’s there, the more damage it can do, eating in to the vinyl and causing colour fade.
• Hand wash only. Take the time to remove the mess by hand. Don’t be tempted to use a pressure washer, steam cleaner or industrial scrubbing machine to clean your wrapped vehicle and NEVER use a petrol station car wash. If you take your car in for servicing or repairs, make sure the garage has it written down that your vehicle is not to go through the free car wash.
• Regular cleans. Weekly, careful cleaning will help maintain a colourful wrap. The dirtier your wrap gets, and the more dried on the bird droppings become, the more pressure you’ll have to apply to clean it. It’s that pressure that could cause damage to your wrap.
