Norfolk-born F1 star sparkles in Bahrain GP

Who caught this weekend’s action-packed Grand Prix live from Bahrain? The most exciting two weekends in F1 for a long, long time, we were totally gripped.

Here at Totally Dynamic, we were watching from the edge of our seats as George Russell delivered the drive of his life in the second weekend of racing from Bahrain. This natural born racing talent is being called the new star of Formula One by motorsport fans and pundits alike, and just happens to come from our home county of Norfolk.

We know we share a passion for motorsport with lots of our Totally Dynamic clients and customers, so did you watch too? Did you share the highs and lows with us, as Russell got unbearably close to clinching a maiden race victory for the Silver Arrows team? Stepping into the seat of seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, George Russell entertained us in Sakhir with a race that thrilled from start to finish.

With Hamilton ruled out of the Sakhir GP after contracting coronavirus (wishing a speedy recovery to Lewis) George Russell was offered a dream drive in Hamilton’s vacant seat.

Causing jaws to drop around the world, Russell just missed out on pole position in qualifying. But come race day, he bravely overtook his far more-experienced teammate Bottas at the first corner to lead and dominate the race. Totally unphased and exuding confidence from the front, Russell looked set to make his racing dreams come true. Then came that fateful pit-stop which saw the wrong tyre put on his car. Racing against the odds, Russell made it back to second place, with fans willing him on to the podium. But it was not meant to be, and with the second cruel twist of fate, his car sustained a slow puncture, which after yet another pit stop meant the racing prodigy eventually finished ninth. The only slight consolation being that George managed to pick up his first ever F1 championship points.

With George born in King’s Lynn and sharing roots with us in Norfolk the Totally Dynamic team were willing Russell to succeed, cheering on our local lad from our sofas. When the fairy tale ending did not happen, we were gutted, but there is no doubt that this natural born talent from Norfolk has a sparkling F1 racing career ahead of him.

Do you share our passion for Formula One and motorsport? Did you watch the race action this weekend and think our Norfolk-born driver has what it takes to win championships one day?
