Totally Dynamic in Driving Seat at Le Mans

1 July 2008

news story:

Embassy Racing

A car that’s fast, sleek and sexy, with a top speed of 200mph and is to be photographed by the world media, needs to be handled with care.

That’s why an international motor racing operation recently employed the services of Leeds/Bradford based vehicle wrapping experts Totally Dynamic to wrap two prototype racing cars, unveiled at Le Mans last month

Myles Schofield, Communications Director for Embassy Racing which is based in Ossett, Wakefield , stated: “The finished result of the LMP2 Embassy Racing cars was wonderful; very dynamic and very impressive.

“We had used suppliers in the past that were very good but didn’t necessarily fulfil all the criteria we set them. So we had been looking for a local but professional supplier that could meet all our demands, and Totally Dynamic did just that.

“We are now considering using the company again to wrap some of our motor bikes.”

Myles added: “We gave Totally Dynamic an extremely tight deadline for one of the cars – which had to be finished significantly earlier as it was being photographed by GQ magazine - and they managed to turn it around very quickly.”

Lee White, centre owner of Totally Dynamic Leeds/Bradford, explained that the new livery was launched at Le Mans on June 14 and 15 so the finished product had to be absolutely spot-on.

He explained that the cars were wrapped in the colours of the two main sponsors – Zolor and Triumph – and the brief from Embassy was that both images had to stand out without contradicting the overall look of the car.

Totally Dynamic also had to amend the traditional Union Flag image to fit perfectly onto the front of the prototype cars, but both the sponsors and Embassy were impressed by the polished result.

Lee added: “Incorporating two such striking images to compliment each other – the Union Flag image from Triumph and the yellow livery from Zolor - was not the easiest of tasks.

“Also, because the car was purpose built as a prototype, we had to take extremely detailed measurements in person so we could determine which parts we could wrap.

“However, Embassy was delighted with the overall result and the car drew huge crowds at Le Mans , as well of course as substantial press coverage from all over the world.”

Dunlop Motorsport

Dunlop commissioned Totally Dynamic’s Birmingham centre to wrap a fleet of brand new Iveco lorry cabs especially for Le Mans .

Dunlop’s presence at Le Mans was very high this year with many teams using their specialist tyres.

Chris Taylor from Totally Dynamic Birmingham said, “We received a call from Dunlop a few days before they were due to leave for Le Mans , wanting us to apply their specialist branding to a new fleet of cabs which had literally just arrived. We set to work straight away to ensure that everything was completed in time for roll-out”

Lotus Cars

Finally, making a very special guest appearance at Le Mans was the famous and ever popular Union Flag Lotus Exige which starred alongside Totally Dynamic in the recent Discovery Channel ‘How do they do it?’ programme.

As always, this striking wrap created quite a stir, with Lotus reporting a number of enquiries from owners wanting to have their vehicles wrapped in a similar style.
